webdav is an extension of http, providing a 'write' operation. Apache can handle that.
[edit] CaldDav
Is a official RFC based on top of webdav (access) and icalendar (file format), adding a directory structure + misc stuff to provide a standard for servers.
[edit] caldav servers
- there's a mod_caldav for apache, though not in gentoo yet
- caldendar server, from Apple, mainly of only use for/by/through apple.7)
A server really oriented toward Debian. Not in gentoo. Requires postgresql!
Made in java by l'OSAF. Not in gentoo (as of sept 2008). It installs the whole stuff (tomcat,derby,mysql,chandlerserver...) preconfigured.
Clients supporting this : sunbird (as of 0.9), opengroupware.org
[edit] Heavy clients
